It has become very obvious that recently Mr Ravi Menon has become curiously very active in areas of national and political interests not under his purview as Chief of the Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS). Previous Chiefs of the MAS have never involve themselves on issues not under their purview because the words of the Chief of MAS carries weight and influence in the financial sector, not only in Singapore but the world as well. That's why they only confined themselves to speaking on financial matters that will influence Singaporeans. By openly speaking on matters not under the purview of the MAS, he could have intentionally overstepped and undermined the role and responsibility of the Office of The Prime Minister and those of The Cabinet.
